One day, as I was listening to HayHouseRadio.com, I noticed a new show was coming on…Soul Coaching with Denise Linn. Hmmm, sounds interesting, I thought, so I tuned in. Little did I know my entire life would change just by listening to a radio show on the internet. Denise’s first show was amazing and I was hooked. I dashed as fast as my fingers could type to Amazon.com and started accumulating her books.
Of course I had HEARD of Denise, but I admit, I thought of her as “That Famous Feng Shui Lady”. As amazing as her Feng Shui contributions have been, her body of work encompassed SO much more. I knew I absolutely had to study with her. Her life story of survival, forgiveness, learning to live a soulful life and the accumulation of her knowledge was mind blowing! Virtually every sunject she has written about has been near to my heart and I found myself nodding my head in agreement with her, it was as if she wrote what was in MY heart! My next step was to go through the 28 Day Soul Coaching program and that was quite the eye opening experience. I know it sounds a bit cliché, but it truly did change my life. I de-cluttered, I looked within and I learned so very much about myself. I noticed that I was changing MY way of looking at things and interacting with others…slowly, subtly, change was happening! Then my husband started some projects I had been, shall we say…ASKING him to complete and he was actually excited about it! My life was changing every day and for the better. I signed up for Denise’s Soul Coaching Certification class and waited…and waited…and waited for it to begin.
For those of you who enjoy a bit of astrology, allow me to share…my Soul Coaching Certification Class began on the DAY that Saturn left Leo in my chart (I have my Sun, Mercury, Uranus, Ascendant and Pluto in Leo), on a New Moon.
The Soul Coaching Certification was one of the most insightful experiences of my life. I have been around the block a time or ten, but this class really allowed me to look within and clarify. Thank you, Denise, for making us feel so completely nurtured and trusted. Denise created an environment of complete love, trust and natural beauty and that allowed us to open up in ways unimagined before. It was like meeting your Spirit Guide in person – ahhhh!
That was in 2007. In October of 2009, I was blessed to be able to retake Denise’s training. My husband asked if I had to repeat Soul Coaching training, I laughed and told him it was a deepening and that Denise had added a module on how to help me be the BEST WIFE ever. One does what they have to do to get a laugh…
Anyway, the deepening was an even more empowering time in my life than my first time. Of course, I am not the same person and I had a basis in this amazing work, but I will say my life is even fuller than before!
OK, here is a bit about ME! I grew up in Mississippi, moved to Dallas as soon as I graduated from college and lived the uber-fast Dallas life for 15 years or so. I worked in the fashion industry and my life revolved around looking good, having fun and seeing how big I could get my blonde hair. Fun…oh yeah, fulfilling…not at all. For a few years I worked for PETsMART and PETCO and loved it, but was beginning to tire of retail.
Along the way I fell in love with the sport of purebred dogs and bred Top Ranked, Top Winning French Bulldogs (including both of Martha Stewart’s Frenchies) for almost 20 years. For more on THAT, visit Jackpot! French Bulldogs.
Right after I turned 40, I took a job as an apprentice graphic designer in St. Paul, MN and headed north. Nope, I had never lived in the cold and knew I would need boots and a BIG coat. Literally a week after I got to Minnesota, I met my future husband, Steve Vitcak. Talk about things that happen for a reason! I wanted to get married that second date, but he wanted to wait and wait and wait, for five years…so we waited five years, but get married we did! Shortly after the festive wedding we bought a fishing resort, Dancing Bear Resort, in far northwestern Minnesota and here we are! We now also raise alpacas under the Jackpot Alpacas farm name and adore them. I have six French Bulldogs, though I am not really breeding them anymore, one Great Pyrenees, one mini-horse, thirteen alpacas and a YAK, yep, a yak. Plus, peacocks and fancy chickens are joining the parade soon. Life ROCKS here in the MInnesota big woods.
I have always had a HUGE interest in everything of a metaphysical nature. I am sure I drove my mom crazy with all my odd questions about reincarnation and UFOs growing up in rural Mississippi. Here is a quick overview of some of my more “formal” training. That is, of course, in addition to reading everything I could get my hands on for over 50 years and having been beaten with cosmic 2 x 4s for that same period of time!
