As Denise began chatting about Miracle Boxes I knew it was time. I jumped up, grabbed my partially completed Miracle Box and a tote box full of my collage materials and I was creating. It was almost like being with Denise again, she talked, did a meditation and I worked on my Miracle Box. By the end of the show, my box was complete and it felt so GOOD. I am a complete believer in everything happening when it should and as it should…even if we never understand WHY in our Rational Minds (fodder for another post). So, the Miracle Box I completed on THAT day was the perfect Miracle Box for me to work with.

Create a Magical Miracle Box

This is similar to the creation of a collage, but it’s more fluid. Decorate a box—it can be cardboard, wood or plastic—and around the outside edges write: “Thank You! Thank You!” And on the inside lid write: “Whatever is written in this box is So!” Then, on slips of paper, write your desires . . . as if they have already occurred. When something manifests remove the slip of paper…and you can add more if you like. Put special objects into the box such as crystals or flower petals. Place it in a special place to help manifest your dreams.

Here are the basics of a Miracle Box…

Find a box that you can decorate. Any crafts or general store will have them. You can use one of the Kraft cardboard boxes, a wooden box, or even a cigar box. Shape is not important…round, square, rectangle, whatever box makes your heart sing.

Gather your magazine collection, any embellishments you desire, glue (Rubber cement is my fave), scissors, Sharpies® or pen/pencil of choice.

Go through the magazines and cut the pictures, words, phrases out that speak to you.

Then attach the words, phrases, embellishments onto the box. You can cover your box with anything you desire…now is the time to let your creative juices flow or NOT! It can be as simple or over-the-top as you wish. With nods to Outback, No Rules, Just Right!

Next, write, as Denise outlines above, Thank You all around the outside and on the top. Then on the inside top, “What is written in here is so.” or “As it is, so it shall be.” This is an important positive manifestation of the thoughts that will be put inside.

Next, write your intentions, your desires, your dreams, your affirmations on slips of paper and put them inside. I used a hand made paper and carefully tore the strips of paper. You can do whatever feels good for you, of course. Write the intentions in the positive and as if they have already manifested. For example…”I am healthy and vibrant and at my ideal size.” “I am enjoying work that fulfills me and pays well.” You get the idea!

Place the intentions inside the box. You can add crystals, flowers, anything you wish! As the intentions come true, remove them and thank the Universe (insert your word, God, Heaven, etc.).

I end with a meditation in which I visualize each and every intention being fulfilled. This does not have to take long, just a few minutes total OR it can take as long as you wish. Once again…no rules! Oh, I also began with a visualization of my Miracle Box being a vibrant tool for my spiritual growth.

I also stopped and cleaned my desk before I began working on my Miracle Box. After I completed the box, I also gave my office a really good cleaning. I admit, that is one of my challenges in life. I loathe cleaning and make many excuses for it. I have even played the Past Life Princess card, to no avail, I might add. It felt so good to have a fresh, clean office to finish my Miracle Box in!

My car was in the shop (again) and they promised it would be ready by Saturday am, so I had a plan. As I was checking email, I got one from Jeanne asking if we were all still coming, as it was almost forty below. I was in…somehow I KNEW I was going, it did not occur to me to NOT go. So I woke Steve up to give me a ride to get the car and none of our trucks would crank. Without hesitation Steve ran over to the neighbors and borrowed their truck and off we went. I grabbed my car and zipped over to Park Rapids.

There we were…five women of northern Minnesota. Five women dressed in our layers of clothing…braving the bitter cold, five women ready to open up our souls, our hearts, our very selves to whatever the Universe would be bringing.

After a brief settling in, Jeanne gave us our instructions and the dance began. We each covered our eyes with a bandanna and began to dance. Oh, I will say, the room was padded and we were safe, plus Jeanne was watching to keep us from taking the room part with our wild dances.

The music was a masterful blend of my personal fave (80s technopop/dance music), and various cultural beats and rhythms; Celtic, African, Spanish, Australian Aboriginal, so many I cannot remember. It all blended together in a beautiful mix of visceral rhythms. We danced wildly for an hour without stopping. of course, I was nervous at the beginning…would I pass out? Would I feel stupid? Would I knock someone over? All of that disappeared as the music began. I truly lost myself in feeling my own body move.

When the dance ended, I mourned a bit. I wanted to dance like that forever and never, never stop! My soul wanted to twirl and stomp and I wanted to shake my bootay (spelling on purpose) more, more, more. When it was over I realized I had never danced like that sober…yes, I admit, I was a bit of a party girl in the 80s and danced many, many nights and early mornings away. I loved it. Upon reflection, it seems as if our society has pushed dance into clubs and bars and made it socially acceptable only under the influence of alcohol. Sad, isn’t it? For millions of years we have danced around campfires and under moonlit skies and now…not. Children dance because it feels good, the music moves them and they dance beautiful kid dances. How many cute YouTube videos have you seen with a kid dancing and enjoying that moment?

When did enjoying the feelings of our bodies moving become relegated to sporting events or clubs?

No resolutions for me in 2010. I am setting intentions and forgetting about old school resolutions. For many us, resolutions seem to be made to be broken and I do not need any little failures littering my “gonna be amazing” 2010. It seems to me that resolutions are almost MADE to be broken and people somehow EXPECT to break their resolutions…so why bother? This year I am starting off with an agenda of empowering, achievable intentions!

Earlier today I snagged a nice, fresh piece of poster board and started my 2010 Intentions Board. I will admit, I got a wee bit of a head start as I had been tearing way cool pics and bis from magazines for the last week or so, getting ready for the big event…tahdah…Intention Day!

At the center of my 2010 Intention Board, I have stated “Who I A Is Enough” one of my favorite Denise Linn quotations. To me, that sums up the struggle that so many of us have…that somehow we are inherently just not enough…most of us have an Enough Button…slim enough, young enough, smart enough, clever enough, all the way to that all time, all around Enough Button…plain old Good Enough.

I filled the rest of my 2010 Intention Board with quotes, pictures, and some of my It’s Your Karma Cards…just to ensure the absolute success of that soon-to-be-released project – blatant pre-plug. I was careful to cover various aspects of my life, my marriage, mu animals, my health, my spiritual path, friends, family, and good old fashioned abundance and prosperity!

May you and yours have a 2010 that surpasses all of your hopes and dreams!

Here are a couple of tips and hints that just may help you through some of those less-than Hallmark moments.

As you sit in the living room, listening to Uncle Arthur complain about the economy and Aunt Ethel gripe about….everything try the following…

Stop, breathe, breathe, breathe and consciously relax.

Intentionally soften your gaze, look at each of them (yes, even Aunt Ethel) with “soft eyes” and allow your energy to turn into a soft rose colored mist, a mantle of compassion and love, and wrap it around each of them (and yourself). I usually kinda check out of the conversation, I allow the loving energy to flow around me, and slip into a bit of a “happy place” as I sit there. Then I can pulse out the good vibes, the happy, loving energy. If they say or do something that is (fill in any emotion-annoying, frustrating, maddening…you get my drift) just intensify the rose love mantle and remember they are doing the best they can with the tools they have in their toolkit. Then repeat.

This can take you through a lot of potentially frustrating get-togethers. But if there is not enough loving rose colored misty vibe to get you through the afternoon here are a few more tips…

Go for a walk. Invite anyone to join you (you know who will or won’t) and get out for some fresh air. No one will argue with that!

Run some errands and get out for a bit. Tell everyone you forgot something and then bring back…something! Hahahah! Does not have to be huge, a bag of special coffee or a CD of holiday music or extra water. The idea is just to get out of the house for a bit and BE.

Escape to another room alone and check email. Everyone understands email. Stretch it out for as long as is comfortable for you.

If you can get away with it, take a lot of naps. You do not even have to sleep, just escape into a spare room, possibly pop on your iPod and relax.

Last but not least, take a long bath. Sea salts, bubble bath…get in there and luxuriate for a bit! Lock the door, pop on your iPod and wallow in being ALONE.

Even I would not suggest you START the 28 Day Soul Coaching program during the height of the holiday season. There is just too much distraction going on for most of us to get the optimum benefit from it during this time of uber-distractions. But we CAN maintain our center and stay focused on our own form of self-care during this time.

Here are a few tips and hints to help you keep your Soul’s Center during the Holidays

• It does not matter if you are religious or not, the energy of our planet is immersed in that of the Spiritual at this time of year. Tap into the collective unconscious of all things spiritual and enjoy being one with your fellow mankind.
• Set limits and stick to them. This means spending limits, eating/drinking limits, number of events to attend limits and limit the time spent on anything that does not bring you joy (some is unavoidable, so limit).
• Give to the charity of your choice. I love Kiva.org.
• Have realistic expectations. You know that Norman Rockwell Christmas portrait in your mind? Throw it out and think Christmas Story! That is closer to most of our realities.
• Get enough sleep, take your vitamins and oh yeah, get enough sleep.
• Spend some time outside everyday, even if it is NW Minnesota cold. Make yourself. I pretend I am in an old 40s movie, gracefully meandering in the snow…looking glamorous. Yes, I said I pretend.
• Treat yourself; get a massage, a fun intuitive reading, have your hands read, whatever would give you a lift.
• Maintain your meditation practice. Period. Just do it…everyday!
• If you do not meditate, start now. This is one practice that will be worth beginning during the holidays. Even five minutes a day will help keep you centered (even if just for a moment at a time).
• Most of all…Have fun! Treat yourself. This is a time of JOY…maintain YOUR JOYFULNESS!

The Meaning of 11.11:11
Those of you following me for some time know that I like to get information from various esoteric tools, and share it in case you find it provocative and insightful. The object of my most recent attention is today’s date – November 11, 2009, or 11:11:11 (by adding 2 + 9 of 2009).

This is the first time this master number has shown up in a date (in what I understand our lifetime!), which is big energy on a number of levels.

To begin, 11 is the master psychic’s number, and focuses on intuition, spiritual truth, ideals and being a conduit for high vibration energy and insights. It’s not about being risky, reckless or even speculative; in fact, it’s the opposite. It’s making choices and decisions from a deep knowingness that transcends the surface ‘look’ of a situation, circumstances or relationship.

When you (or any of us) operate from that deep inner place, you are following your unique insights, which is the only place to enhance our true creativity. Looking for the short, obvious answers stunts our growth, the remedy of which is to know what we know and be responsible for it.

The primary energy of 11:11:11 is (naturally enough) 1 energy, which is about leadership, new beginnings, fresh starts, pioneering, independence, self-awareness, consciousness, leading your own life and taking care of your own needs; however, the shadow side of 1 energy includes being selfish, arrogant, aggressive, egotistical and lacking tact.

The 1 + 1 energy of 11 is the number of connection — if you know that 1 + 1 equals two, but it doesn’t feeeeel right, it’s a sign that you’ve overlooked some details and your intuition is talking to you to help you connect the dots.

The 11.11 energy invites being fully accountable for your actions and how you are living your life from an evolved perspective. When not fully expressed, the shadow energy of 11 is living in fantasy, instability, paranoia, un-balanced, ignorant, manipulative, with an irrational fear of change and self-sabotage.

It’s a powerful number that can offer clarity or delusion, depending on how you relate to it.

The 11 energy helps us to see things from different perspectives — even the 11 (when laid sideways) becomes an equal sign (=).

And 11 is made up of two 1s, symbolizing humanity by the 1 looking at itself (think 1:1 with the colon as the mirror). The 11 energy represents both the one person but also the ‘we’ that is formed by two. It is the individual reflecting on oneself at a deep level (not just the surface image) to grow into self-acceptance and more full contribution to the whole.

11:11:11 (the date today) adds up to the number 6, which is the number of domestic responsibilities, home, family, stability, accountability and balance. The 6 energy teaches how to make the ‘right’ decisions, to rise above small-mindedness and to see the hidden aspects of your priorities and decisions — they have to go beyond your own interests to include your “family” (whether biological or chosen).

There aren’t any quick fixes in the six vibration; instead, it’s about patience and taking time to let things grow (as we do with children).

In this energy, you are the parent — to shepherd positive growth, to teach, be a good role model, and be fully expressed from the inside out — for yourself and the people in your world. This may require some healing from the inside out too, which means letting go of that which you know no longer serves you emotionally, physically, intellectually, energetically, spiritually. This is the time to release those old patterns and heal, as the power of profound insights supports your change.

May you discover your insights and illuminated path for yourself and your business by using the 11:11:11 energy today and beyond.
